At Newberry Electric Cooperative, safety and reliability are our top priorities. Maintaining clear right-of-way areas helps us prevent outages and protect both our crews and our members.

We require a minimum 30-foot right-of-way for all primary power lines—15 feet on each side of the pole. To maintain safe clearance, Newberry Electric reserves the right to trim or remove trees and vegetation within this area.

Planting Near Power Lines? Choose Wisely.

If you're considering planting trees near overhead equipment, it's important to select the right tree for the right place. This can prevent safety hazards and reduce the need for future trimming or removal.

Important Safety Reminders:

  • Do not attach signs, cameras, birdhouses, or other objects to Newberry Electric poles.

  • Report any trees or branches growing into or near power lines, especially if they pose a danger. Prompt reporting helps prevent service interruptions and safety incidents.
