The 81st Annual Meeting of Newberry Electric Cooperative will be held outdoors on the campus of Mid-Carolina High School on Wednesday, April 7th. A drive-through-only registration will begin at noon and end at 7 pm when the meeting starts.
Due to COVID-19 precautions, this will be a business-only meeting and there will be no entertainment or other activities this year.
Every member who participates in the drive-through registration, between noon and 7 pm, will receive a $30 bill credit automatically applied to their account. You’ll also be entered to win one of the many great door prizes given away, including two grand prizes of a $500 electric bill credit and ten $100 electric bill credits. Prize drawings will be held the following day on April 8th and winners will be notified. You do not have to be present to win but you MUST have your registration card with you to be registered.
If you have not received your registration card in the mail, please call the coop before the meeting and one will be made for you to pick up at the coop drive-through window for your convenience.
President and CEO, Keith Avery, will hold a town hall meeting between 4 and 5 pm to accommodate anyone with questions or concerns they’d like addressed.
In order to keep employees and members safe, all COVID-19 restrictions will be observed whether in person or at the drive-through. During the registration process members will be asked to remain in their vehicles and to practice social distancing, wear a mask, and use hand sanitizer while attending the meeting.
Members that do not attend are encouraged to tune into WKDK 1240 AM or 101.7 FM and listen to a live radio broadcast of the meeting beginning at 7 pm.
NEC is looking forward to safely assisting members at this year’s annual meeting!
If you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 or are experiencing any symptoms, please DO NOT attend.
